Cher was on Dancing with the Stars Finale tonight and she looks like she will survive another few decades looking quite similar to NOTHING but when she started her career.

Gotta give Cher credit though. Rough life with lots of lumps and bumps and she proved herself to be a real survivor! :coolsmiley: |

Spoiler, it's been my experience that more than ever you find out the most about people especially those closest to you when the Chips Are Down! Can I get an Amen? |

Not sure where these are coming from but they could be an offshoot of my now 28.8 or so year 224 613 Project which does connect with many universities, law schools, various associations, law firms, high schools and the like. I started using these two numbers in late 1992 after starting as subject #613 in a 17 week study on stress on the unemployed conducted by the University of California, San Francisco Health Sciences Campus. The researcher/interviewer thought this was a good cause especially after I showed her various letters I had received up to then. One was from the Law Librarian of Congress whom I had worked under when she was Law Library Director at the U of MN Law School. She had written that I needed to get as many law libraries as possible involved for victims/survivors' needs for practical information to be met. And that the Law Library of Congress could not pressure individual law libraries to get involved. I had written the Librarian of Congress in 1991 and she answered the letter I sent him in mid-1992. 2-24 is my birthday and the day when Michelle Mitchell had been murdered near the University of Nevada, Reno campus. The co-eds at UNR were very scared during the three years it took to solve this murder and it turned out in 2014 that they railroaded the wrong woman just to give the Reno, NV community closure. A DNA test had shown that a serial killer stalking the San Mateo CA area in early 1976 had with very high credibility murdered Michelle Mitchell. I did try to get as many libraries involved in this as possible from 1991 onward. It is about a grass roots kind of movement to put checks-and-balances on the legal system by empowering survivors/victims of crimes of all kinds. It is hard though often to determine just who the victim/survivor in each case is. The woman wrongly prosecuted for Michelle Mitchell's 2-24-1976 murder is certainly a survivor/victim. This could be about something else entirely. I am not sure. I have communicated with hundreds of thousands of people though since mid-1991. And this is a very worthy cause but gets more and more complicated with developments in new technology. What could Talk of the Villagers do? Easy. Use your life experiences to gauge how practical materials in your home town libraries and sheriffs' and other law enforcement agencies would be from the eyes of victims/survivors looking for practical information. Local contexts are critical. What's in your hometown library? Do some Googling and use Facebook. |
Tal, my Brother. Your answer to GG'S question reminded me of something a former highly regarded poster, tomwed once said to ME when I gave a long-winded answer to a simple question. I sometimes still do, Almost nobody is perfect.
He said to me: I asked you for the time of day and you tell me how to build a clock! All good-natured stuff I think. It is now for you anyway. How true his words were. :boxing2: |

471, 399. 470, 514. November 26-27, 2019 NOTHING 24 hour cycle for 8:55 AM to 8:55 AM EST. It was the day before Thanksgiving and not a live turkey was to be seen while many people had already given up on Thanksgiving to go stand in line for Black Friday deals. :) |
The week is over for me. NOTHING to do but relax and get things together for tomorrow's dinner.

I know this was a few months ago but it's NOTIHNG but a heartwarming story. I think we can all find something to be thankful for in our lives. Perspective is everything.

Wishing everyone a great day today. I have nothing to request, but for everyone to have an extra helping with your meal this afternoon.
As my Daddy used to say... “Shoot... take a few wrinkles out, its a holiday....” Even though I will not be partaking in all the caloric consumption, I have decided to just go ahead and put on my stretchy jeans anyhow and just sit here on the couch with my belt undone... :1rotfl: (I assure you I will make up for this holiday on the next one.) Happy Thanksgiving -Spoiler |
Got some rib eye steaks at Winn-Dixie as their beef is usually quite good but not always. So that is Thanksgiving dinner. Along with a cherry pie and some asparagus with potatoes which I will bake. Cooking for my parents and me as usual.
Beau will unfortunately have to be content with Blue Buffalo dog food as the steak often makes him sick especially rich cuts. And he ate most of the other stuff around which he likes. I go to a lot of different Winn-Dixies and Publixes here in the Villages depending on what movie theater I have just been at or if donating platelets or whole blood and looking for a pick me up in the way of food and/or drink. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. And not for NOTHING. |

Beau met a pooch named Negan at one of the Villages' dog parks and I was a little worried but there were no baseball bats around. The owner said his wife named the dog and his does not watch The Walking Dead. Negan was an extremely evil character a few seasons back but seemed to find redemption for a while but looks to be back on the road to perdition. |

NOTHING but still smelling the after effects of eating the asparagus for Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. The Romans like asparagus because you could cook it very quickly.
This one though looks like a lot of time and work. Ancient Recipe: Asparagus Patina (Roman, 4th century CE) | Pass The Flamingo: Ancient Food History and Recipes |

We went on NOTHING but a bus trip to see The Elf. It was at the Show Place Dinner Theatre in Hudson Fl. A trip where you buy the tickets at A.A. Sorry I meant AAA and go on a beautiful Workmans Bus.
I have not experienced anything like that before but thought it was the greatest. We enjoyed it and the Bus Driver was Perfect. Didn't scare me once, a miracle. |

I didn't even know where Hudson was until I looked at a map. Great you had a good bus driver. I know you're NOTHING but easily scared. :girlneener: |

NOTHING but good to see GE back on Talk of the Villages.
Got some stuff from one of the Beef O'Brady's here in the Villages and it was cooked just right. Two baskets-- one of Fish and Chips and the other of Chicken Tenders. Beau really likes chicken so he got some of it and not for NOTHING. :a040: Made 30 gallons this afternoon at One Blood here in the Villages' area and watched two more N.C.I.S. episodes. There was a very happy camper there who was finishing up donating platelets and he had earned a 48 gallons sticker. Still on Season Seven of N.C.I.S.. |

I want start doing it again. My dream was to get a 55 gallon award and I am well on my way towards it. Someday maybe I can get there. Ain't nothing to it, but to do it... Spoiler |
