I do avoid pit bulls and mixes here and about the Villages. Not a breed I would want to go up and pet and be NOTHING but nice to.
But I have met some extremely nice pit bull mixes. One my dog Beau chases around the dog park which is kind of funny.
The size of the head and jaws of many of these pit bulls and pit bull mixes, however, is very scary.
A few days ago I was talking to a lady I have known for about 8 years about this pit bull attack and she had very strong feeling about pit bulls and their mixes which seemed a little too full of stereotypes so I just hoped some education about pit bulls could be spread with my thread.
And I do not think I would ever want to own a pit bull or pit bull mix.

Our middle son, the guy who was sick last week had NOTHING but a beautiful Pit who looked Blue or Silver depending on the lighting.
Fiona was beautiful but very Muscular and could clean the coffee table of all my wife's collectibles on display quicker than the Grandkids could, Fiona used her tail the kids used their hands.
So when the dog was almost a year old my son gets the idea to have her trained. Every Saturday for a long time he would bring Fiona to a trainer for the entire day. The dog seemed to be calming down, we were relieved and impressed. When she graduated we made her a little raw meat cake and praised her and it was cute. The thing we never witnessed was she was also trained to attack and would only respond when someone used an attack command with The Vietnamese Language. What a shame. This Son is a great man in so many ways but he should never be allowed to pick another animal as he has made other mistakes with exotic animals.
He is now down to only one Lizard named Leggo who started out so small you could hold it in your hand. Not anymore. It's scary big.
The dog was big, beautiful and mean. I asked that he keep the dog away from the Grandkids but the decision was his and NOTHING ever happened. Thankfully.
Insurance in my experience in The Villages will not be offered to someone with a Pit, they didn't want to give it to me because we had a Boxer. Go figure.
