Never heard of that until I was an adult, so obviously my parents were past that concern... had they even known about it too. I remember a comedy sketch on that non-wearing of white, not sure if it was a commercial or what, where some guy brought that up. I can picture his voice; sounded like that dude from the "Airplane!" comedy who was making jokes in the tower.... and someone else laughing when he said it. But yeah, it became kind of a joke several years back.

I grew up down here in Florida - have never heard this “rule”. The only dress code we were told was “don’t wear flip-flops to the funeral home”. I think even that rule is passé. Feel free to wear white all year!

That’s old school thinking. Any color any season goes these days. Who really cares anyway. Silly to be bound by what others think you can or can not wear. Dress as you please.
