Default What kind of name should the Triple Crown Winner have?

I had been wishing for I'll Have Another to win the first Triple Crown since 1978 because of how well that name fits with winning three hard races in a row.

Affirmed, Seattle Slew, and Secretariat are also apprporiately named winning horses. Seattle Slew: 1977 Triple Crown Winner

Anyone have some suggestions about what might be a good name for the first Triple Crown winning horse?

Sorry, I don't think anyone is going to suggest that a good name would be "Taltarzac." If they do then I'm throwing the name "Triple Crown Winner", "Graciegirl" and "Baloney Joe" into the mix!

Seriously, here's a few for a starter... "Ocala Klimber," "Hotslaw", "Triangle Trooper" and "Gnot-a-Doubt"! OK, you can all stop laughing and make your own suggestions!

If I owned a thoroughbred I'd name it Fleetfoot Mac

I like that one. How about One for the Record Books for the name of a horse. He would have to be something great to begin with to get a name like that.

WAGSCOW uses the first letter of the name of every Triple Crown winner. Lucky?

You have untill the second year to name your foal. You submit SIX names to the jockey club and it is the jockey club that has the say. So you need to find a bunch of names you love

Thanks for the information. I guess that you have to pick names that have not won horse races before??? They retire names along with the horse?

Correct no 2nds or add on names, but if the horse has raced you can't change his name (i'll have another is not his original)
