Smile Halloween activities in the Villages

I have heard there are pet costume contests around the villages as well as trunk treating for kids at a church. Can anyone give me the details on these? Thank you so much!

And I wonder if there will be children ringing doorbells on Hallowween evening look for treats....what's the history on that? Hate to buy a bunch of candy...and then have to be tempted to eat it myself!

Hi jrosaltal1 and glwcww. Happy Halloween. I just came from an awesome Halloween party at the Hacienda Recreation Center where the Baby Boomers had our annual party. Rocky and the Rollers were the entertainment. If you haven't seen them perform on one of the Squares, you must look up their schedule and make yourself a date with an amazing band.

Anyway, I about pet the costume contests in TV. I took my husband and he won second place...just kidding. I don't know about any, but I bet there are some. Ask around or look in the Daily Sun.

I loved your question. I see you are both fairly new here. So welcome to Talk of the Villages (TOTV). I think your question would get more response in the "General Questions about The Villages" where you can talk about anything related to TV.

Don't forget to look into the Baby Boomers Club. If you want more info, we have a website.

I have heard that there will be golf cart trick or treating at the church behind the Publix on 466 for area kids. Does anyone have any specifics on that? Time, date, exact location or name of the church that is sponsoring this event? I can't imagine a halloween without kids and candy! I am not ready to let go of that tradition just because I now live in a 55+ community! I just love seeing the kids all dressed up!

I'd like to know if there are any costume parties around this weekend. I went to a good one 2 years ago but haven't found one since then.
