But it does work and we have used it for years. I think the larger quantities of Preen are cheaper at Samsclub.
How do those react to Roundup?

Very timely thread for me. I have a huge weed problem, don't know if its worse than anyone else, but to me, its horrible. I'm tired of paying people to remove them and then a week later, they're back. So I did an experiment myself and I weeded my beds recently by moving the rock to one side, pulling all the existing weeds by the roots and then applying Preen around the plants and putting back the rock. It was a large job but I enjoyed being outside and working in the soil... lol. (this was pre-lovebugs).

Its been about a month and not one weed has come through the rock yet. Making me very happy that my work was not in vain. Preen may be expensive but not as expensive as paying weeding people every month.

Now I presume I just have to keep up with the maintenance.

Kathie,

Even that got to be too much work for us. I now have a guy who comes and sprays the nasty weeds to death monthly. Haven't seen a weed since we got him......

Good to know and you have such a beautiful yard. Give me his number but I've used 3 or 4 different people and sometimes if they don't know what they're doing with the spray, they kill my beautiful flowers. I am using the spray also but only on areas not close to the flowers. I'll try him but I am having fun working in the soil,, guess I'm a gardener at heart. Just don't like the bugs, ugh!! and yesterday had a 4' snake in my lanai so now I'm scared to work in the yard.. double ugh!! ugh!!

Preen now sells mulch which contains Preen for easier weed control.

Roundup will wipe them out, and hopefully PREEN will keep new ones from sprouting.
