Default Kwik Kerb -- Awesome!

During the storms we've had the past week, we had 2 queen palms blow down. After failed attempts at getting the landscaping company who installed them to come back and reset them, we contacted Kwik Kerb about doing the job. They came out the same day to evaluate the situation and returned the next morning to reset the trees. It was a huge job requiring the use of a tractor since one was a double queen. They staked both trees (which should have been in the first place) and best of all -- I still can't believe this -- they didn't charge us!!! He said he would attempt to recover the cost from our original landscaper (good luck with that). He did ask that I put in a good word for him on TOTV since he knows a lot of people go here for advice and referrals. IMHO, this is the kind of customer service we all want but so seldom find. From here on, they will have my landscaping business and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a company who cares and does quality work. BTW, if you want the name of the original landscaper, please PM me and I will gladly provide it. They are doing quite a bit of work in the new areas so buyer beware.

Glad that Kwik Kerb did such a good job for you!

Based on positive comments from this forum, I contacted them a couple of weeks ago to come over to take a look at my back yard. I want to install some large bushes and a couple of Lygustrum trees to give my typical Villages back yard some privacy. The woman who came over took a look at the yard, had a very brief conversation with me and said that she would call me with a price either later that day or the next day at the latest. Almost a week later, I called to find out if she had a price for me. I had to leave a message, in which I explained exactly when she was there and that I was still awaiting a price (as well as leaving my number again, just in case she had misplaced it). It's more than 2 weeks later and they still haven't bothered to call me back. I guess that they are much too busy to take on additional work!

But that's okay, because it gave me the chance to talk to both Dani at TerraScape and Sabrina McGowan. Interactions with both of these people were much more impressive than the bum's rush I experienced with the person from Kwik Kerb. I ultimately went with McGowan because a) she has done many yards in my neighborhood and not only do I like the result, but everyone gives her a big thumbs up and b) she offered bigger plantings at a cheaper price.

I guess, as with most experiences with landscapers here in The Villages, it's just luck of the draw. The company that give great service one day, can just as easliy fall flat on their face another day. Hopefully, once the work is completed (3 more weeks before she could slot my job) I'll be satisfied with the outcome and can recommend McGowan's services to others!

Picking a landscaper is hard - it takes some real effort on your part. Recommendations such as this one play a large part. For a good review of the basics of selecting a landscaper, I would go to the Villages Homneowners Association's April 2011 newsletter and read a Seniors Vs Crime article titled "Don't Get Cleaned Out At Spring Cleanup". A direct line to that article is: http://www.thevha.net/the-villages-v...29&article=653

Kwik Kerb did our landscaping also and did an wonderful job. Kim was ill a few weeks back which might explain some calls not being returned.

They are coming later today for a trimming and fertilizing of our plant life.
