Default Landscpers and home owners What are your thoughts

Looking for an opinion or has anyone even tried a neighborhood group lawn maintenance program
Would it make sense to get the neighborhood together and have 1 contractor to come in and mow, fertilize, prune and such. That way there is only one day or even just a few hours of lawn equipment noise these guys fly.
Instead of multiple contractors at any given hour or day 7 days a week.
I'm sure as a group the rates would be more favorable. Not that there not now.
I would think a contractor would love to come into a neighborhood do his thing instead of bouncing around the Villages like a pin ball machine..
Just a thought

One person in our neighborhood gets homeowners together for a deal on house washing - works out great! I'm not sure how many homeowners participate but it does get us a good price.

The lawn maintenance idea certainly has merit for the reasons you state. But I'd have to think that homeowners who are happy with the company they're currently using would be resistant to changing. 'Nothing ventured, nothing gained' - could be worth a try!

Might work easier in a brand new neighborhood, though.

Default Good idea

That's a good idea then we could cut down on the noise factor and save money too!

We did this in both of the new neighborhoods I lived in. I'm not sure it saved money, but the big advantage is the lawn service is not going to skip a whole neighborhood. This is very important if you are leaving for any period of time.

that's a great idea and works as long as someone takes initiative to organize it!

And you can get all the neighbors to agree on the same lawn service!
