I realize there are past threads on this but there may be some new companies that no one knows about who are doing a great job. If your grass looks great please tell everyone who you use because with the drought and the watering restrictions this has been a very difficult year to keep a lawn looking good.

Are you sure your lawn is looking bad because of drought?
How many inches of water are you irrigating per week? If you have St Augustine grass it should be 1 to 1.5” per week. So yes, we have been under restrictions but it only says to water on one day…you should have increased the run time on your controller to make up for it. My grass is not suffering because of the one day per week watering. My recommendation would be to call your existing lawn care company and see if they can send someone out to help you. It might actually be an insect or fungal issue with your lawn, not drought. |

Greensmith's hands down. Here every month and some months come back again for follow-up. 20 years here in TV doing it myself but it was time to let go. Our lawn has never looked this good. Several neighbors too have gotten away from the 2 LARGE companies that we hear so much about and went with Greensmith's and their lawns have improved dramatically.

Have been here 15 years with small lawn. Always had pulled weeds. This is worst year and I am overwhelmed.
Does anyone use Ferris Sulfate? Is there a competent, honest lawn care company serving TV.?

No lawncare company addresses the soil you have.
Most have a 7.2 pH. Alkaline enough to inhibit root growth and iron uptake, inducing other issues like needing water more often (deep-root watering doesn't help shallow rooted grasses) & weed infestations that don't mind the alkalinity among the most common. Some will charge you to take a soil sample, that will be improperly taken, and use the results to bamboozle you into expensive additives that don't even properly acidify your soil. I have yet to find a faster, safer and more affordable way than coffee grounds, used or fresh. I am also yet to find any company to talk about my soil pH for longer than 5 seconds before changing the subject or telling some crap story about some other customer that had highly acidic soil and some guy in the main office with a masters degree that is WAY smarter than me. Fertigator will address the pH problem if the standard applications don't. I won't tell you they use coffee to do it, because they might not use coffee to do it. Unfortunate the business model for these lawn care chemical applicators does not run on actually giving you a healthy lawn, but on gathering new customers and trying not to spend too much on those lawns before the customer moves on to the next company. |
