Default Palm tree problems

I noticed that there is a fungus growing on the inside trunk of my European palm. Is it possible to treat my palm with a fungicide without causing damage?

Expert assistance with everything related to plants can be obtained by going to the Sumter County Annex at 466 and Morse on Mondays from 9 to 3 it's called the Master Gardener program and is part of University of Florida's Institute of food and agricultural science.
