Default Palm tree replacement

I lost my palm to the cold winter. I have a small area and would like a small palm. Any suggestions?

Depends on the size of the area and your budget.

Expensive ; For an install, you can go with any of the local nurseries ; Village Palms, Terrascapes, Fairfield Farms or MoonValley Nurseries. Probably well north of $500 if I was to guess, depending on type of palm and size.

For a budget DIY ; any Big box retailer for a Majestic Palm. Starting at about $20 but I’d opt for a taller, fuller one in the $50-75 range. Most folks have them inside in a pot, but I’ve had ours outside, in the ground, since March.

They’re cold hardy to about 28 degrees or so in a sheltered area. They don’t like a lot of direct sun. So morning sun with some afternoon shade would be best. At this price, they are expendable and easily replaced if we get another big freeze.

Which company would be the best to ask for a consultation?

You should do all three. A new palm is a lot of coin. You will also more than likely purchase one from their existing inventory. Palm prices vary greatly by type and size.
