Default Palm Tree Thread

A while back someone went to a great deal of effort to provide a list of palms and other plants that do well in this area of Florida. It was very informative and well put together. I was sure I could just navigate right back to the thread or URL but now I don't have a clue where it may be and my searches have not been productive. If any of this sounds familiar perhaps you can point me to the right place.

Default Palms

Go to the following website for info on most common palms in Florida.

https://my.sfwmd.gov/portal/page/por...40e88d49523b6b

It's a great publication for other Florida plants and trees, as well.

floridata is a great website, also visit Jim Davis at the Florida Extension Service on 466 (I did, he's great).

We have gone with all cold hardy palms -
Windmill Palm, European fan palm, coonties (technically not palms but palm like).

Pindos, saw palmetto do great too. Sagos are cold hardy but can get scales.
There are all sorts of websites that give the hardiness factor.

Thanks to everyone for the information! Like a lot of others, our robellini didn't make it. The queen palm is showing tiny new growth but it wasn't planted correctly according to our yard guy (I don't know the specifics) and so it struggles more than most when there is trauma to it. Even though it was the hardest freeze in 35 years according to some, I think it best to replant with more clold hardy varities.
