I have a courtyard villa and would like to eliminate the grass in back. I did install a cement patio but I left lots of grass. I'm now thinking of either putting in pavers or pouring more cement. I have a dog and I don't like the idea of lawn maintenance coming in with a rider mower. I'm not sure which would be best. Will I eventually get weeds coming thorough the pavers? I want something that's needs very little maintenance. Also, which would be more economical. If I pour cement, I'll have it painted. The area is about 35 X 35ft.
All suggestions are welcomed. |

I have a CYV also and the first thing I did when I bought my home was to hire a landscaper and take out all the grass and landscape it with some additional plantings, rocks and wood chips. They put a weed block liner to minimize the weeds coming through below the rocks and wood chips and 2 years later it works out fine. I hear you about minimizing or eliminating lawn maintenance. My area in back is a little smaller than yours, approx 50 x 10.
Take some pictures of your yard and talk with some of the landscapers in the area to get their ideas and a price. It may be an additional option for you to consider.

So all you would need for lawn maintenance is a bottle of Round Up.
![]() Sounds like a plan!
