Hi all,
I recently replaced an old Hunter irrigation timer with a WiFi Rachio system. It works great. But, I have a question about "how much" watering is correct...I know, it's a tough call. So, I used the Rachio setup to describe the types of zones (grass, bushes, beds, etc). I don't recall it asking me about square footage, etc. *** Can anyone describe the best way to properly set watering amounts. We live in Spanish Springs and I can't tell if it's too much. Obviously "not enough" will be clearly visible. Our latest bill for November showed 14,000 gallons of use. Our house does NOT have separate irrigation/potable water meters, so it's not clear how much got used in the house. ps: Yes, I saw a previous thread and read it as well: Question about Irrigation Bill usage |

Here's what I follow from Dean's.
You should be able to break up a long watering cycle into several smaller ones to avoid run off. |

Agree with the above regarding multiple runs. Our soil is sandy south of 44 and my Rachio runs “cycle and soak” breaking up the longer run times into at least two segments (that is toggle on/off in the Rachio app).
