We used this company last year to have them remove a palm tree, and they were very professional and efficient. Would highly recommend them.

Me too. Diseased, busting up road, busting up driveway, destroying sewer lines? Has to be something like that or the ARC wouldn't allow its removal, right?

Wonder why the district allowed it to be cut down? Does not look diseased.

Worst time of year to remove trees because of nesting season. Many baby birds and squirrels are killed this way every Spring/Summer. Also, ARC approval is required for tree removals. The one in the photo was gorgeous and looked perfectly healthy, so I’m shocked ARC approved its removal. The after photo is very sad.

From the other on-line news dated last September:

Residents will no longer need Architectural Review Committee approval to remove trees from their property.

Supervisors in community development districts in The Villages are relaxing the ARC requirement for tree removal as it has become unnecessary.

In 2019, legislators approved a Gov. Ron DeSantis push to allow homeowners to remove trees from their property without having to receive the blessing of local government.

“The state of Florida has made it very easy to remove trees. All a homeowner has to do is get an arborist’s report,” Deputy District Manager Carrie Duckett said. “Going to ARC is really a moot point.”

AmeriTree has removed two trees for us--an overgrown holly that never should have been planted where it was--up against villa wall, uprooting neighbor's patio--and a palm tree in the front that had grown too tall and was providing our garage and car with rats.

They did an excellent job and cleanup, and removed the roots invading the neighbor's patio that ran all the way up to the front of the house. Several of our neighbors decided to use them as well. They took on most of the street in one day.

I don't know what the issue was with that oak tree, except for I would not want that coming down on our house.
