Default Sylvester Pruning-Diamond Cut

I have a Sylvester that is in need of some 100+ fronds removed (via diamond cut) but am running into difficulty finding a service who will 1) return my call or 2) who advertise as providing this service. I realize that this may not be a huge undertaking and therefore not of prime interest to landscape companies but there must be some service providers out there. If you have good first hand experience of someone who performs this pruning service....please provide contact info. Thanks!

Steve Freemans Lawn Maintenance.
He does fencing, walls, of all types
tree trimming/shaping/removal

Steve is a native of the area....a very hard working individual.

He trimmed our Sylvestri palm with the diamond cuts you descibe. Very fortunate we had him do it when we did as he found an ant colony that was burrowing into the trunk....he treated it and we have never seen an ant on the tree since.

352-205-5597

He is licensed and insured.

Question about "diamond cut" Sylvester palms. How does one get the bright color back (light orangish) after the cuts turn brownish after 6 months of more on the trunk where the cuts were made? Is this something a homeowner can do or but it be contracted out?

I believe that is nature causing the color change and can t be stopped.

palms will show that bright color right after they are cut. that is because those parts of the tree have never seen light before, and will begin to turn brown. and there is nothing you can or should do to stop that process. and no, you cannot stain the trees to obtain an orange color.

Having my Sylvester palm cut at this very moment....they installed the palm about a month ago and promised to come back to cut after a month. We are very pleased with their work.

Their phone number is 352-461-8161 and usually Sylvia will answer. Its a family affair. Good Luck!

Just looked out the window and newly exposed trunk has that orangish look.......which I assume will turn brownish over time. They are doing a great job.
