Why not just call the 800 customer service # on the back of the card?

That will likely get his card deactivated.

That would be ok with me.

May not be okay with him, particularly if there was a chance that a neighbor would return it.

I think the correct answer is "because some people are nice and don't want to put someone through the hassle of having their credit card canceled."

For most credit cards, if you lose your card, you can log in to your account and turn off the card. If you later find the card and it hasn't been compromised, you can just turn the card back on. It's like an on-off switch. It is worth checking out how to do this before you lose your card.

That is a better explanation of what I was thinking. Sometimes I am too wordy and sometimes too succinct. Maybe one day I'll post one that is just right.

I also did a search but did not find anything. Please let me know what real estate and I will call them first thing tomorrow. I thought about calling the number on his card, but was trying to save him from having to cancel his card.

An internet search did not work for me, but a search on the amenities bill site was successful. Thank you all for your suggestions.

Thank you so much for taking the time to return credit card to us. We were in the position of returning a wallet to someone a while ago and appreciate someone doing the same for us. Your honesty goes to prove just how many good people live in The Villages.
