Default Primary care doctor (that is a woman) outside of the villages health that is good?

I am starting on Medicare May 1st, and will be losing all of my doctors here in The Villages as I will not have Medicare Advantage Plan!

Does anyone know of a Primary MD (preferably a woman….its just my preference), that is NOT with The Villages Health?

I plan to keep my NYSHIP Empire Plan insurance as my secondary, and if I could get some names, I can go through and find out if they are in my network!

Thank you so much for any suggestions you may have!

We’ve been using Dr Nalini Yelamanchi for several years and have been very happy with her. service. 12155 CR 103, Oxford FL. (352) 391-5900. That’s near Walmart on CR 466. She accepts FEP Blue. Not sure about any other ins.

I highly recommend

Ana Karovska Vuchidolov MD
33049 Professional Dr #103, Leesburg, FL 34788
Phone: (352) 365-1224

Dr. Ana was my doctor when she was with Premiere Medical. I stopped seeing her when I became eligible for Medicare and moved to The Villages Health. I hated leaving her but couldn't get away from Premiere Medical fast enough. I don't know how long it was that she left Premiere but I would not hesitate to go back to her if I become dissatisfied with The Villages Health.

I would also recommend Dr. Yelamanchi and her nurse practitioner. She's very highly reviewed.

Just curious, I searched 'Dr. Yelamanchi' and found Dr. Vishnu P. Yelamanchi cardiologist (a male) though I understand OP requested a female. Are they by chance related ?

Dr. Vishnu P. Yelamanchi is a cardiologist in The Villages, Florida and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including UF Health The Villages Hospital and Leesburg Regional Medical Center.

Glinds8451 - Are you looking for a traditional MD or a more holistic practitioner? I have a suggestion on the latter, my preference.

Yes, they are husband and wife. I’ve seen both and highly recommend her for primary care.

I agree. Quality Physician Group (where Dr. Ana practices as a Primary Care physician) has now opened a second office on 44, not far from the Rohan Rec Center (on the other side of the street from Rohan). Dr. Ana sees patients there a couple days a week. She is excellent.

Dr. Ana Karovska, is a brilliant, compassionate, knowledgeable and patient Primary Care Doctor. She has offices is Wildwood, close to Brownwood on Rt. 44 and also in Leesburg. 352-365-1224. She takes her time, explains every question you have and is very professional. Her staff is amazing, out of the same mold as Dr. Ana. We have been going to her for about 6 years and with her clear, accurate and concise diagnosis, direction and immediate action we are certain she has saved my wife's life.

OP is just going on Medicare and keeping his NY health plan as a secondary… I think is what was meant.

Also, you are not 100% correct, today, the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville does not accept ANY advantage plans. Moffitt has dropped Florida Blue Advantage today… more and more top speciality hospitals are dropping Advantage plans across the country… hope you never need this kind of care as we have been thru a successful pancreatic cancer treatments at Mayo and would not trade that for anything that is “free”.

I just asked ChatGPT for hospitals not accepting Advantage plans. I got 20 across the country, 15 listed as Humana not being accepted.

Here is the Medicare link to find doctors who take Medicare in the area. But you should first find out if your current doctor takes Medicare - they often do but do not mentioned it on their website.
