Thumbs down Lake Sumter Urgent Care

For many years we have gone to the LRUC (Lake Regional Urgent Care) as it always advertised that you would be seen by a "Doctor" and we were. That appears not to be true any longer. We have gone there twice in the last few days and were seen by either a Para Medic or Physicians Assistant. Dr. Johnson was the Dr we saw most of the time and when I inquired if he was still there they said no and that he moved to Alabama. I am not sure what is going on but a lot of the patient's in the waiting room did not look like "Villager's" It may be well for them to remove from their advertising that "you will always see a Doctor"! We will no longer go to them but rather use the Urgent Care that is next to the Alliance Lab which is close to the Citrus Cardiology as we understand it is very good.

You don't have to be a Villager to go to the Urgent Care. Many of our servers, waitstaff, store employees, etc. all use the Urgent Cares here.

Question Understand

I understand anyone can go to the Urgent Care at Lake Sumter. We have gone there for years and really liked it.
We were "confused" this time as we appeared to be the only ones who were obviously from the Villages and we
noticed that some did not get the flip boards that were given out to give your name, problem, etc. and when we only saw a PA knew something was and is different. The Dr. we always saw was gone and no Dr. saw us while they have always advertised that you will be seen by a Doctor.

PennBF, We also have had good experiences at Urgent Care at Lake Sumter. I can't recall the precise wording in the ad, but perhaps they mean that a doctor is there all the time, not that you will be seen by one unless necessary. That said, we have always been seen by a doctor.
