Now I'm not saying every physician is excellent. I know people have had bad experiences. I think that happens anywhere. I can just say that from my experience and the people I know who go to TVH, people have been very pleased.
Same here. Theres so many to choose from and more arriving everyday. How about asking a friend or neighbor for a referral rather than asking strangers. Thats a unique concept!

Lots of stories like yours. It is the way they do things here. Loads of tests, follow up visits etc. Shocking? Unnecessary? Expensive?
We travel to Gainesville when possible for treatment.

Many doctors refrain from "Do no Harm!" The best Medicare insurance is United Health Care Medicare Advantage; also Florida Blue. With a Medicare Advantage plan, you are entitled to use all the doctors in Villages Health care system. My primary is Dr. Uyen Nguyen who is also a doctor who performs osteopathic manipulations. She is the best doctor I'VE had. Be sure to use HealthGrades.com so you can pick the best doctors.

A couple of years ago I broke out with a rash, had 50 + Tests and saw about 10 different dermatologist, no results were conclusive. Medications, Creams, Biopsies, all prescribed did nothing. Wrong diagnosis and years of frustrating, itching and pain. Ended up all that time I had Shingles, let me tell you, it was truly uncomfortable and debilitating. In retrospect I am surprised that these doctors here couldn’t diagnose the problem. All these creams that I put on my skin, has burnt it and to this very day I still feel pain. It seems when doctors can not help, they just say , “ You have a Chronic Condition.” All that time I felt like an experiment. After many years I was prescribed morphine and prednisone which I take to this very day.

Medicare. Stretched too thin. Wait until we "all" have it.

Trying to look at a positive if Medicare for all happens. The best doctors will no longer be able to run away from it since everyone will have it?

No, they'll just migrate to concierge medicine and cash only.

We were fortunate enough to have found Lady Lake Family Medicine. We heard some not so good stories about The Villages Health Care System and decided to look around. LLFM’s primary doctor is John Burress, but we have almost always seen his PA, Glen. He is very attentive and we couldn’t be happier with the care we have received over the last 8 years.

I would but heres the thing.

We went to her based on a recommendation.

Have had two appointments but both have been virtual as she is not seeing patients in person now.

Until we had a face to face hesitate to recommend her. Next appt is mid October and hopefully in her office. If you message me than would furnish info..

Yikes! Avoid Premier Medical!!! My husband had 9 different doctors within 10 yrs and they didn't do a good job helping him-they diagnosed a paralyzed diaphragm as Pneumonia-twice-until he went to Shands. And thats just the beginning. 5 minute appts are standard, and, as one dr. told my husband, I'm just a note taker. He is Now with The Villages Health (yes) and has Dr Rizzi and they, in a few months, did more for my husband than Premier did in 10 years. Don't care where you go or how bad you think the Villages Health is-but please, please, please avoid Premier.

I don’t have personal experience with the doctors here yet. But I do hear a lot of good things about them. Social media is the only venue that I see complaints and I tend to take them with a grain of salt. Complainers are louder than the satisfied and usually there are far fewer of them.

Another vote for Kathleen Williams. When I came here I was in an eye doctor office and was talking with another patient in the waiting room. He was a retired dentist now living in The Villages and he told me Dr. Williams was his dentist. She is very good.

If I have anything serious or semi-serious I go to specialists in Orlando or Gainsville.

I was very happy in the village healthcare , the only reason I left was because I have blue / cross worldwide backing up my Medicare and pay no deductibles ever . There are many good GP’S here but I’ve have been using Dr Villa she is all about traditional and non traditional medicine and is very hands on , I think it’s better to try and find a good doctor here , going to Ocala or Gainesville at some time in future could become much harder to do
