I'm not sure if everyone is aware of this or not.

If you are doing illegal drugs, your doctor nor anyone in the office can do anything about it. We can't tell your spouse, kids, the police, anybody.

It is important that we know everything. You are an adult and have the right to tell your doctor that you don't want to stop smoking pot, or get any sort of drug treatment. You will not be shamed. When it comes to your health please please please don't keep secrets.

Also, not sure if all EMR (electronic medical records) have this option but ours does. If there is something that really needs to stay only between the patient and a doctor there is a place the doctors can type stuff, and unless you log in under a provider ID, the nurses, managers, billing, nobody can see it.
