Get a second opinion. I was told that too, went to a different office and was told, they are not that bad. We'll keep checking once a year.

Do you experience the symptoms?

I just had this surgery by Dr Seaborn Hunt III. I also had the special lens which eliminates the need for glasses. I was very satisfied.

My wife has been having trouble seeing out of one eye (looks foggy) and just found out she has a fast growing cataract. We get our eyes checked yearly and she knew she had small cataracts in both eyes like I do but one has grown in the past year. We will be going to St. Lukes in Lake Sumter Landing and we have the brochure on cataract surgery. The surgery with the standard lenses is covered by insurance but they show upgraded lenses for $2000.00 an eye and another for $3000.00 an eye. We wonder if these upgrades are really worth the extra expense since we know several people that have had the surgery and got the standard lenses and have all had no issues and now see 20 - 20 but need to use reading glasses for close up. There is also NO GUARANTEE that if you get those $3000.00 premium lenses ($6000.00 for both eyes) that you will not have to wear glasses for close up. Any additional thoughts would be appreciated.

Dr. Ireland, St. Luke’s, LSL. Fantastic, caring staff. Had mine done 2 years ago...no complaints...only compliments.

Dr. Jody Armstrong carefully watched mine until they were read to be removed and then removed them. She is part of Ocala Eye which has a large office across the street from Laurel Manor Rec Center.

I cannot say enough about how afraid I was and how easy the whole process is and it was covered by medicare.]

Get your second opinion from Dr. Ireland. She is the best at what she does...cataract surgery....with a fantastic facility designed just for that purpose.

My wifes experience with Dr. Hunt was excellent. He is all business, which I think is a good thing.

Dr. Scott Wehrly @ Lake Eye 352-750-2020. Next to Dunkin Donuts 1400 Rte 441 North Bound in the Sharon Morse Building. Caring, Accurate, Knowledgeable, not a blip. Grateful for their service. I still wear cheaters for the computer sometimes but no more glasses all day.

There are probably many good ones. My surgeon Dr Zeini from "Eyes of the Villages" told me that cataract surgery is rated the safest surgery that you can have.
