Default Dr. Lal

Dr. Lal is a gastroenterologist and has been advertising a lot. Have any of you gone to him and, if so, were you happy with him?

My mother went to him. I went to an appointment with her and he got quite rude about her taking a medication and said she should never be on it. When I reminded him he was the one who prescribed it, he got so indignant and rude and then walked out. Can't say anything positive about him. She also developed aspiration pneumonia as a result of a procedure he did on her.

Never again. Rude and very unprofessional. An MRI was given to him to look at prior to an endoscopy clearly showed that the liver which was overly enlarged was displacing the stomach. When asked about this in the recovery room, first he said that he didn't have time to read the MRI report and secondly, that the procedure was unremarkable. I asked whether or not he noticed a shift in the position of the stomach which was possibly causing the nausea my wife was experiencing. In utter arrogance, he asked me if I were a doctor and I replied that I haven't played one since I was ten. Lal didn't find humor in my reply. Never again.

I have to say I am pleased with Dr. Lal. I have been to him in his office and have had him do a short procedure on me and he couldn't have been more patient or professional. I am surprised your experiences with him were not as positive as mine.

I recommend Dr David Elijah of Gastro Intestinal Consultants. They have an office at 910 Old Camp Road in TV.
