Default Emergency Health Care Question

Sorry if this has been discussed but... recently had a 25 yr old registerd village guest. we were playing pickleball when i asked if he/she had health insurance. Answer was no. There was thankfully no problems. I have absolutely NO idea... Obamacare? if got hurt and required emergency healthcare at our village hospital... what happens? am I responsible? Do they admit him? If so based on what?

No one can be turned down by an ER. They must be stabilized. Then if you don't have insurance the hospital may transfer you to a publicly funded hospital.

As to the responsible party for payment, once we are adults we are all responsible for our own bills.

But it is great to have a good hospital so near to be seen and stabilized. I hope this answers your question.

To make it real clear, the villages hospital is a public entity. They do not require residential status for admission.
