Default Female Dr- Pinellas or colony

I always prefer getting recommendations- I am new to the area and as a full time resident I am looking to find a female Dr in the new villages health care program. For those of you that have tried using any of the female Drs at Colony or soon to be Pinellas, who are you happy with? Who would you choose? It would help to get some feedback. Just reading their backgrounds doesn't really help. I find a personal recommendation is always helpful! Thanks!

I am a patient of Dr. Carly Noel. She is awesome. She started at Colony but has been promoted to higher position at Pinellas. I have opted to follow her there rather than switch doctors even though I live right by Colony.

Same here. Dr Noel a diagnosed a condition I have in my meet and greet. Followed through with tests that confirmed DX. This Situation was only "watched"by previous physicians. She emphasized how serious it could be. Will have 15 minute surgery next year for a cure.

My wife and I also like Dr. Karla Noel along with her PA staff, and despite my ability to easily access Colony Care Center by mobility scooter, we will follow her to Pinellas. A few people however have previously posted that her dance card is filled and unfortunately unavailable to new patients. One could check though if interested since you never know when an opening might occur.

Both Drs Noel and Hawley are not accepting new patients. Also, after speaking with the center, you can not put a "hold" on a Dr. I was told you have to fill out new patient forms and then get scheduled for an enrollment mtg. At the enrollment mtg, you then can pick a Dr out of those that are available. Right now,it looks like the soonest you can get in for an enrollment meeting is in Jan. There is no way of knowing who would be available at that point. I like to research ahead of time the Drs I want to use. This part of their system does not sound very patient friendly.
Any other suggestions for female Drs would be greatly appreciated.

Default Pinellas medical center

I just had my enrollment meeting as well and Dr. Noel and Hawley are not accepting new patients even when they move to Pinellas. Does anyone know Dr. Cusimano that is at Colony and is moving to Pinellas?

I can understand your feelings but the Drs are being taken quick. Many good Drs left and since this is a bother to you. why should they wait on you when someone else needs them. In the Villages if you snooze you lose. sorry

I too am new. I don't even know where to start to find doctors in The Villages. Can someone please try to explain the medical experience here and where to even start? Thanks!

This is my opinion: I would start with the Villages Health Care Centers. Here is their web site: Colony Care Center | The Villages
Many of us have moved over to them. First must get a packet and fill out papers. After you select you physician, you will have a "meet and greet"with your new doctor. Lots of info on web site. Explore the entire site including where the centers are and will be.

I saw Dr. Nguyen at Colony for a first visit. Seems more broadly knowledgeable than my last dr.

Thanks for sharing that Kitty. She will be my doc as well and haven't heard any feedback on her.
