Florida Blue vs United Health
I have UH Advantage now but considering changing to FB Advantage. I see they have better dental plans now.
Has anyone had any trouble with FB? Thanks in advance. |

You will need to see if the doctors you currently see are in network for the new insurance, if not you may have along wait time for your initial appointments, be sure you check any specialists also. We have elected to NOT change insurance plans specifically for this reason, we like ours doctors and drug plans.

I would certainly be interested, but now I'm gun shy of switching.
I haven't been impressed with United, but I tried Humana for a year based on their dental plan and their "huge network" and discovered that the only dentist that would take it was Aspen, and their "huge network" was just hundreds of former Aspen dentists. They also lied to me about Villages Healthcare taking their insurance (as did Villages when I called -- they apparently dropped Humana the moment I signed) . United isn't much better, but at least they covered up to $1000 last year and a (very) few dentists other than Aspen will take it. The worst part was that while we were away, our Villages doctor that we liked quit and now the only ones taking new patients are 45 minutes away on the Southside. We switched to PMA and then they got busted for medicare fraud. So we tried Orlando Health and the woman sent me to a specialist for a damned prostate exam and forgot to order an A1C for a patient who told her he was pre-diabetic. It's a mystery to me why it has to be so difficult to find a doctor or dentist in a city in Florida where both the average age and temperature is 72. You'd think every doctor in the country would have an office here! |

I have both. No appreciable difference. Seems like Florida blue every year adds a little some thing and then UHC matches it
