Default Good Dr. accepting new patients?

My husband and I are new to the area, and need to find a new Internal Med/Family Practice physician in the Lady Lake (or nearby) area. I have had one referral from a neighbor (who is also a physician) to Dr. Steven Rivers - his web site claims to be accepting new patients - but they are not accepting new patients. As a retired Nurse, I'd prefer a physician who is proactive about preventative medicine, but not inclined to order unnecessary tests simply out of curiousity, or to line someone's pockets with $$. We have BC/BS PPO, and are not on Medicare yet. Suggestions or personal recommendations? IMPORTANT: primary language: English, easy to understand, kind, compassionate, acute care visits easy to schedule.

Try Dr Romulo Camogliano (352-259-3435). He's located near the Villages hospital. After trying two other doctors who would barely look at you but wanted their $, Dr Camogliano is a God send. I've referred him to others who are also pleased with him. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

Yes we are also looking, in somewhat of an emergency. My wife being diagnosed with Lyme we finally found a LLMD in Tampa who has helped us with a protocol but wants our primary here in The Villages to monitor should an emergency arise. Our current primary does not believe my wife has Lyme and will not authorise the treatment or support us. We were working with a Home Health agency to do the infusions twice daily, they stated that they had the paperwork so this morning we had the PICC line inserted. We just got home from the hospital and two messages to say they will not now proceed as do not have a prescription. So we will now have to start from square one -- after a year of effort and $2000 of expensive drugs!!!!! with a new primary doctor who cares.

Just made an appt to see Dr. Butt. She is accepting new patients but I guess it depends upon what insurance you have. That was one of the first questions I was asked.

Wow - isn't it a shame that our health care has come to this in our country. I believe the good ones are few and far between these days because of fear of being sued and trying to see enough patients in a day to cover their cost of malpractice insurance for these lawsuits.
I am in the same boat - new to the area and trying to find a doctor that just might do a good job.

My husband & I will be moving to The Villages in 3 weeks and are also looking for a "good" Doctor that accepts Tricare Prime. Dr. Eburuche was recommended, but I just called her office & she no longer accepts Tricare Prime. Luckily we are both in good health but who knows what tomorrow might bring. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I highly recommend Dr Delbakhsh or better known to his patients as Dr Del. Observed him as a hospitalist for many years and when he finally started his own practice and I was one of his first patients. Not sure what insurances he takes.

My husband and I are also looking for a new PCP. We used to be with Dr Martinez-Cruz but he left his practice. Any recommendations or know where Dr. Martinez-Cruz might have relocated?
Thank you.
