I get a similar cough every year about this time, some worse than others. I'm sure it's seasonal allergy related. Seems to be much windier lately than normal, stirring up a lot of pollen and other allergens in the air. Sometimes an OTC allergy med will help, but mostly just waiting it out. BTW, I don't smoke and I'm outside a lot. Maybe staying inside with the A/C would help too, but I haven't tried that.

Is that based on board certification in allergy and immunology????? Or just a guess????

Works well.
My mom did this with me but she put Vicks in the water. I had bronchial asthma as a child that went away years later. Had a relapse during both pregnancies.

My mother in law, 2 sister inlaws and their husbands all had this 2 month cough. My mother in law is 89 so they kept her off of cough medicine(due to blood pressure) but gave steroids, z-pac, an inhaler, musinex, and a nebulizer. She still has it but it is less.

Don’t understand what’s this got to do with a cough?

For the OP----2 months of a cough meets criteria to perform a chest X-ray---I hope you've had one.
Sure, it's very easy. All flu and cold cases - in fact ANY cold or flu-like symptoms: Covid.

There, just explained the last 4 years for ya.

I’ve had it. Goes away mostly on its own. Called “100 Day Cough”. Google it. But see your doc!

I'd be happy to take a look at it for you. Turn your head and cough!

Well, medical knowledge does advance. But until I see more data, I'm with you---it is still primarily a disease of young children, and no physician I know has had the RSV vaccine.

If you live near the turnpike you might be coughing due to exhaust.

Yes, see your doctor as it could be a number of things, some of which might be serious conditions.

A bit off topic, but why is there the need for RSV vaccines for adults? For years it was a virus affecting mainly infants and young children although the elderly or immune compromised can also be affected. Apparently, RSV is a created virus emanating from chimps in research labs in Germany or somewhere in the early 1960’s. It escaped and jumped species. So it’s been around for years and although it can be serious for vulnerable population there was never talk of a vaccine until recently when the pharmaceutical industry got involved. Hmmm…

OP. I am not a doctor. I never played a doctor on TV. But I have been a patient many times. I recommend a bowl of chicken soup and a visit to your doctor. Better to find out it is nothing to worry about than to worry about what it might be. As for the chicken soup. It couldn't hurt!
