I am a retired federal employee who recently moved to The Villages. The health care that I had before moving is not available in The Villages.
Any recommendations for health care providers from other retired feds would be greatly appreciated. I'd also like to hear if there are any that should be avoided. |

At my age Medicare is primary, but my FEHB insurance is Federal Blue Cross/Blue Shield, which is now secondary.
I have found Federal BCBS to be widely accepted, even where Florida BCBS may not be. |

Ditto to Carl...I am not Medicare yet and BC/BS Federal has worked well for me. Widely accepted, decent coverage (except dental), and pretty efficient on paperwork.
My prior HMO in MD didn't work here so I had to switch.

We also have Blue Cross/Blue Shield Federal and it is widely accepted in the Villages. Have never been told by any doctor that they don't take our insurance. We have the high option (the more expensive plan) and have been pleased.

Thanks for all the input. I'll give Blue Cross a serious look.
My situation is the same as villages07. I have been covered by an HMO in Maryland that is not available down here. |
