Default Medicare advice?

Is there someone in TV who can give me good unbiased advice on Medicare and Medicare supplements?

An independent insurance agent can do this! When we were 1st going on Medicare (and this was before we moved to T.V.) we did this. You would take in your list of medications when you see the person and from that they would determine the best supplement for you. Hope this helps! To sign up for Medicare...we went to the SS office to do so. You would make this app't a few months before your 65 birthday.

I'm still in Michigan, but I have been told to go to the Department of Aging for Medicare advice. I'm not sure if they offer the same service in Florida.

Many friends have gone there and have gotten a better rate and more coverage on their health insurance. They don't sell insurance but compare the plans and look for the best coverage for you.

This was done before Obamacare so I'm not sure if the situation has changed.

Florida has an organization for just this purpose. It is called SHINE, is part of the Dept. of Elder affairs and holds regular sessions in the Villages. You can find them on line or in today's paper there was a big article about them including the times and locations of counseling sessions.
