I have heard the team at Leesburg is shads trained and people say they are good. I also heard Ocala Health is good. Do your research.

Leesburg Ocala Heart Institute:

Dr. Wistar (Tim) Moore
Dr. R. Duane Cook
Dr. Robert Richardson

These doctors perform surgery at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg FL
Excellent hospital for heart related issues.
From personal experience I can recommend Dr. Moore and Leesburg Regional.

I would be very leery about having this procedure done in our rural area. It is often done as open heart surgery, although a new minimally invasive option is available by highly skilled and trained doctors. My mother-in-law recently died from complications of this surgery. I would look to The University of Florida Health in Gainesville or The University of South Florida Health in Tampa.

I agree with NYGuy. Much to serious a procedure to trust to either of these two local facilities IMHO. If it were me or my wife I would strongly consider Shands in Gainesville

Research Dr Kevin Accola, Florida Hospital, Orlando. He replaced my husbands aorta valve and repaired another value.
THis website was very helpful in making our decision on the surgeon. Heart Valve Surgery Resources for Patients & Caregivers

Having personal experience in the replacement of an aortic valve, a bi-cuspid valve where stenosis finally gained upper hand, I went with a highly rated heart hospital and one of the top docs that do minimally invasive valve replacement. My focus was as much on the support team and post-op care team which I felt would be better found in a hospital that dedicated itself to heart surgery. This was done in Indianapolis so not of much local help to you, but I would search out a hospital and surgeon who do these operations on a frequent basis. Feel free to "pm" me if you have questions about my experience, etc.
