Default Medical Advantage Plans in TV

I was wondering what medical advantage plan you chose for 2012 and why?

How would you rate the plan you chose?

We chose AARP Medicare complete advantage plan for my wife.
She also had it in 2011.
The monthly cost is $0 you only pay what medicare charges.

Considering all her medical expenses she was out of pocket a very reasonable amount this year. (You have co pays for DR and hospital visits and 20% of what medicare allows for everything else. Medicare does not pay very much to DRs and facilities)

Also the drug program is very good.
Most plans in our area did not cover her very expensive medication and her blood pressure med.
It's a HMO-POS which means you have a list of DRs to choose from but at least you can see a specialist without approval to see one. She has 7 different docs and had to change only two when she joined this year. Also you can leave your region and still use an AARP Dr.

This plan is available in TV.

Look at the Florida BC/BS Advantage plan . . . looks like the best from a company that you know will be around.

Anyone use Tricare,Medicare with Tricare for Life? If so how do you rate it in the area? My wife is still under Tricare Prime where we live and I have just rolled over to Medicare with Tricare for Life. Just curious what others under the same plans think of the Plan in TV area..Thanks..

I am presently in CT and hopefully moving to TV next year, I hope, I hope,
I hope, I hope.

I had a choice between staying with AARP Medicare Complete, (PPO). or switching to Anthem Medicare Blue, (PPO). I was leaning toward Anthem as it had lower costs but not that much.

I called yesterday and got a rep in Wisconsin. I called again to ask one more question and got a rep in FL. She explained various options of the FL plan that was much better than the CT plan. That made it crystal clear that staying with this plan was best for me. I do have to option upon moving, to get a separate enrollment period to decide. the plan in FL is cheaper and has more options that suit me better.

Another reason to move to TV.

I didn't ask as I was satified I would stay with this plan but the rep also said there were extending the deadline for a couple of days past December 7. Please call to verify if you need to.

I sure hope this helps someone.

I moved from Original Medicare to Preferred Care Partners. I like their network of doctors. They have offices right in Sumter Landing. I get back $75/month. If I need to be hospitalized, it will cost $50 per day. Will let you know next year how this worked out for me.
