My sweetie is having issues with his one eye. He has been under a specialist's care in WI. Today it suddenly got much worse...blurred and double vision. Can someone please suggest a good eye specialist?

You might call Ocala Eye in TV. The have several ophthalmologists with various specialties.

There are several highly recommended eye specialists in TV. I actually see Dr. Ram as my regular opthalmologist and he refers me to a specialist when required. I am sure you will get many more recommendations for good eye doctors.

You could also do a search through TOTV.

This may have nothing to do with what is happening to your husband's vision, and you may already know the symptoms of a detaching retina, but I wanted to respond to this thread, just in case.

A detaching retina can present with a shower of many new floaters, flashes of light, and there can be shadows or the appearance of a curtain crossing the field of vision. The onset of symptoms is often sudden.

I am not trying to alarm you, but if you think a detaching retina is in progress, please let the office know that when you call. A detaching retina can be reattached but time is of the essence.

I do not know of a specific doctor to recommend, but the sudden onset of new symptoms with vision may need immediate attention. I wish your husband the best care and outcome.

Laurie is SO right. Ocala eye has a Retina specialist but you must drive to Ocala to see him. Please call to be seen today.

I went to Lange and it was very impersonal automated process with pressure to buy blue filter glasses and come back for a bunch of tests I do not think are needed.

Re the OP, suggest you see a gp asap. Blurred vision can be a symptom of diabetes or hypertension. And maybe he/she can get you in to see a specialist quicker oif needed.
