If you do a search on "plantar", you will find recommendations.

Don't waste your time and money. Go to a podiatrist and get a steroid shot. Chiropractors are charlatans at best.

My husband had it and went to Dr. Shannon Floyd, a podiatrist. He is now pain free.

Get Spendco orthodics and take over the counter pain relief. I have found that Docs have little in the way of alleviating this problem. Takes anywhere from 3-6 months to clear up. The orthodics (in all shoes) provide enough relief to function unrestricted.

From 50 yrs of running experience an periodic bouts of Fascitis

Spenco inserts are about $20 a pair

Just had this!

Went to Dr. Johnny Wu at Tri County Podiatry.

Had a cortisone shot and got inserts. No more problem!

SO AGREE. I developed PF about 5 years ago, playing softball-not stretching before. So painful. Finally went to a Podiatrist -below. Had 2 steroid shots (in the affected heel) within 2 weeks. Sounds awful, but was virtually painless. And after the 2nd one, pain slowly disappeared. Thank god - it was awful, could barely walk straight. Totally gone since - I may be the lucky one. But yes- see a Podiatrist - PF is quite common.

BTW, also heard that Dr Wu is excellent - would go to him if it re-occurs.

Proper fitting orthodics in your shoes. OTC pain relief (Aleve). Give it time. You can get a shot, but without good arch support you will continue to stretch the tendon.

In the meantime get a plastic bottle of water and put it in the freezer. when frozen take it out and roll your foot back and forth while sitting down watching TV or reading... I found that this relieves the pain for me ....

As well as a good pair of custom orthotics.

Orthotics did not work for me! Found my relief
with Croc shoes...a lovely nurse turned me on to them.
I own many pairs in many styles including golf shoes.

I went to podiatrist, took Naproxen for 30 days regularly, which helped a lot, but pain didn't go away completely, then got cortisone shot in heel, which did the trick. Don't go barefoot or wear flip-flops. Now only wear shoes with good arch support, and use some type of orthotic in tennis/pickleball shoes. Didn't know Crocs made golf shoes, will check that out. Crocs are one of the brands I wear, along with Merrell and Clark's. Probably a few others out there. Donated all other shoes so I wasn't tempted to wear them.

Thank you to all that replied. I have done the frozen bottle of water, golf ball, inserts, stretching and more. Went to podiatrist and he recommended the ice bottle, etc. He said it was too soon to get an injection? Maybe I need a new doctor!

I had this about 10 years ago. I couldn't walk early in the mornings because it was so painful. I actually had to crawl around until I could stretch the tendons in my feet. I went to a podiatry doctor and he made molds of my feet. I got custom orthotic inserts for my shoes. It was instant relief. I used them until they wore out and I have been pain free since even though I no longer use them. My son did the same thing when he had it. It worked for me and my son so I think this is the way to go. You could try over the counter inserts first to see how your feet do. Then if necessary get the custom ones. Good luck I know how painful it can be.
