Default need recommendation for plastic surgeon who does MOHS surgery

I had a fairly large squamous cell CA removed from the top of my head by Dr Tran. Had a biopsy today for what might be another one on my temple. I am looking for a plastic surgeon who does MOHS surgery. I would rather not have DR Tran do the surgery on my face. Thanks for any recommendations.

I had such a large one on top of my head he had to take a skin graft from my shoulder to re-cover it. It is a little bigger than a silver dollar and looked like a moon crater for a couple of years. It has filled in quite a bit....and there is a noticeable dent if someone really wants to find it.

I had one done on my right temple going stratight back from the corner of my eye toward my ear. Approximately 2-3 in incision. I defy anybody to find where it was.

There was no way to replace all the underlying fat and tissue from the top of the head. The work done on my temple could not be done any better by a plastic surgeon.

I am not selling. I am sharing information regarding my experience.

You are more likely to find a MOHS surgeon tha has been trained in plastic surgery techniques than you are to find a plastic surgeon who does MOHS (I think! I really do not know).

Good luck.

I had Dr Reed Panos removed a basel cell from my ear. Absolutetly professional and competent. Was referral from my GP doc from Villages health. He was specialist at USF health but don't see him listed there any longer. Highly recommend him

Google it. There is probably a MOHS trained specialist in Tampa.

Not sure if they do MOHS surgery, by Dr Nijher of Ocala Plastic Surgery was trained in NY at Sloan Kettering. You might want to give him a call at the village location 352 750 0019 or at the Ocala office 352 629 8154. His surgical nurse is Arlene so you might want to speak to her if he is not available.

Wasn't Dr. Tran a plastic surgeon before dermatology?

I haven't found in Dr Tran's credentials that he is a plastic surgeon. I am not pleased with the way the top of my head was sutured. I felt at the time that he was rushing between patients and that he was rushed when he sutured my head. Hair will cover this but I am more concerned with how well he will perform surgery on my face.
So it was suggested that I ask the question differently- can anyone recommend a MOHS surgeon who specializes in plastic surgery? Thanks

Dr. Christine Moorhead did MOHS on my face and I was very pleased. You cannot see even a scar. She is associated with Advanced Dermatology.

Dr.Fernando Sera is a stellar Plastic Surgeon.

Highly recommend...Dr.. Tran very good. head heals fast and what may look bad now..the scar will subside.

Dr. Gloria Chin is also a plastic surgeon/hand surgeon. Very very good.

I think I'd be honest with Dr. Tran about your concerns and ask him for a referral. He's a professional and shouldn't take it personally.
