Default Need a good PT

We live in Sabel Chase and are up Noth to sell our house(it sold in one day). I just had rotator cuff surgery, 3 weeks ago, and started PT last week. PT will last 10 to 12 weeks. The problem is our closing is August 29 and by then I will have only had 7 weeks of PT and will need to do another 3 to 5 weeks when we gat back to TV. Looking for recommendations for a goof shoulder PT. Can anyone help.

Florida Musculoskeletal Institute has an office in Lake Sumter Landing on Old Camp Road (the offices across from Too JAys complex).
On the second floor the have a PT facility. There is one lady there who does the scheduling, however I do not have her card but just ask the operator that answers the phone.

I used them for several weeks for a damaged knee and was quite satisfied with their capability.

Their number is 352-753-4366

Good luck.

Funny I also live in Sable Chase and THAT lady would be ME that schedules all the appt. for therapy at Florida Musculoskeletal Insitute but we only see our patients for P.T.
I would recommend Lake Center for Rehab. They have several locations in TV. I love Tracey at the Lake SUmter Landing location but I'm sure they are all good.

Smile Recover quickly

I have had physical therapy at Lake Centre (that's the way they spell it) for Rehab at Lake Sumter Landing, at The Club up near the Mulberry recreation center and at Freedom Pointe (yep, their spelling) across from The Villages Hospital.

Since my therapy was for spinal issues, not the shoulders, I didn't pay much attention to any machines that would be used for shoulder therapy. I believe that on balance The Club would win out. They have at least three machines for upper body. I can think of only one that Freedom Pointe has, and can't recall what Lake Centre has. Of course, all three also have theraband (like a big rubber band) that can be used for a variety of exercises.

I found the therapists at Freedom Pointe and Lake Centre to be more consistent than at The Club; that is to say I generally got the same person to treat me at those two and they got to know me and to pressure me for improvement.

For a period of time I had physical therapy given to me by therapists who came to the house but I'm assuming that you are able to go to a facility.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I went to Advanced Physical Therapy, one of their locations 30 minutes up 301, for a small bulge in my spine that was pressing on a nerve. My problem with them is even though I was looking for a PT certified in McKenzi therapy for the spine, and even though they had one there two days a week who was so certified, and I liked her, they kept handing me off to assistants who were not certified in McKenzie, and were not even PTs. these assistants just made me do exercises, all of which I could have--and would have--performed at home. So in 6 weeks of going twice a week, I maybe saw the PT four times. When she worked on my back and leg, it improved. I could have been done in a month or less if I had seen her every time.

Also, they were not very up front about who I would be seeing, and actually led us to believe otherwise at one point, and that was the last time we went. They would not let me make an appointment more than a week in advance, and when I went to make my last two appointments with the certified PT, they said, Oh, she's booked up next week. I was very unhappy with their office practices. I would not recommend them. The owner is never there. In fact, he was in Italy vacationing at least twice last year. I'm not even sure he is a PT.

They have an office in The Villages, but I really don't recommend them. Just so you know how it works there.

Mandy at Lake Centre at Sumter Landing was wonderful for rotator cuff and shoulder injuries. She did a combination of water and land therapy. She really knows her stuff.

Thanks, CTRANCE I agree. Where I go now I only see a PT and want to continue doing so. I am finding all this feedback very helpful.

I had a shoulder problem and went to Dr. Jonathan Griffin at STRIVE! physical therapy in Leesburg. (Or sometimes he was overseeing the work of the other excellent staff there who worked with me.) The number is (352) 315-9006. I highly recommend them.

I have been pleased with AllCoast on 441 in Summerfield.

Please let us know who you chose and if you like them. I might still need a PT in the fall. Thanks!
