Default Humana Walmart prescription plan vs Medicare Part D

Does anyone use Humana Walmart Prescription instead of Medicare Part D? I understand Humana is $15 month. Is this a prescription worth considering?

My over 80 husband has never had Medicare part D, so I'm interested in the same thing. Uses the VA for some of his meds.

Which Part D company to use depends heavily on your prescriptions and how you feel about generics. For my husband, who also has employer supplemental coverage, Humana Walmart works fine. There is a tool on the Medicare website to use. You type in the prescriptions and it will recommend a plan to you.

The website is Medicare.gov: the official U.S. government site for Medicare. Look on the left hand side of the home screen for a green rectangle that says"Find Plans", click that and go on from there. If you enter your drugs it will give you a very accurate estimate of the "all in" cost for your Rx for the year (premiums, deductibles, and copayments). You have until 12/7 to pick a plan for next year. Be aware that if you could have had Part D coverage and don't, there is a penalty (additional premium) for every month you could have had coverage and didn't.

The VA would be credible coverage and he could get a part D no penalty . Not sure about you but you could check.
