Default Dr. Nalini Yelamanchi

I have been going to her since arriving in The Villages a year ago. At first, she seemed so eager to help me with my medical issues and was so pleasant and cheerful. Her office staff was the same way--bubbly, pleasant and always putting their patients at ease.

However, the last two times I have been to her, she has been short with me, impatient and her staff rarely smiles. Her NP left the practice a couple months ago. Do any of you go to her and have you noticed the same change in attitude?

I'm seriously considering changing doctors. I have some very serious medical issues and don't appreciate this type of treatment.

She was always short with me and felt my asking her questions was a waste of her time so I left her after three visits.

I have been her patient for a long time and she has always been patient with me and my husband.

I have been seeing her for 6 years. The last time that I saw her, she refused ti fill out a precertification form for my insurance for a medication that she has been prescribing for me for 6 years. Her reply to me was that the insurance company wants me to take another medication! She will not prescribe any pain medication, which, again, due to a chronic condition, she has been prescribing for the past 6 years. She wanted to refer me to a pain management doctor. She also has a sign in the waiting room that she will be charging $25.00 to complete the Motor Vehicle form in order to renew a handicapped parking tag. The last time, I filled it out myself and she signed it as I have a debilitating condition that will never improve, only worsen. She always gave me a copy of my lab reports and now wants to charge a "copying" fee. Enough! I am in the process of changing my primary physician!

I've been a patient of Dr. Yelamanchi's for 5-6 years and just saw her again for a routine check in January. I continue to find her to be very pleasant and attentive. Her staff is probably the friendliest I've ever encountered in a medical office.

I'm sorry to read of the unhappy observations reported by some here. It's totally out of character from what I've experienced.

I was also surprised that she charges $25 for signing the form required to get a handicapped tag for the car. Do all doctors do the same?

I had seen Dr Yalamanchi for two years. I had been seeing her for an issue where I needed to be referred to a specialist. My appointment with the specialist wasn't for a few months, as that is how busy the good one's are. I asked what I could do in the meantime, and she said, " I can't help you ". Needless to say, I have a new primary doctor.

I think she's good unless you get sick.
