Default Recommendation for a great hand Doctor?

Can anyone recommend a Doctor that specializes in hands? My wife is coming down there full time 3/1 and has bone on bone in her thumbs and has to get shots twice a year; not really a fix for it, just shots (at least, that's what she's been told). Thanks for any info you can give.

These two doctors are really superb, Dr. Cynthia Harding is my husbands doctor and has helped him several times .............. BUT, and it's a huge but ..... very difficult to get an appointment unless you have a referral from your own doctor. We always get our GP's to do our referrals and get in to see almost all of the specialists in a matter of days, but on your own it would take several months to see these two ladies. Worth it, because they are good.

Dr. Chin did my trigger finger surgery. I was very happy with the results and have full use of my hand. I will however suggest that whatever exercises she gives you to do that you do them. A friend of mine had trigger finger surgery and didn't do his exercises and ended up having issues later on. Good luck to you whomever you choose.

Thanks to everyone for their recommendations; my wife got an appointment at the office of Drs. Chin/Harding for April.

It sounds like CMC joint arthritis. I had both thumbs reconstructed 2 yrs ago. So well worth it.

Arthritis is a nasty thing, if she waits too long more bones will be affected. A good Hand orthopedic surgeon is a life changer.

I wish her well. I had my right hand done first and 3 months later my left was repaired. I have full function, but NO PAIN! It was worth every minute in casts!!!

I do not know the surgeons here. But do your homework and get a second opinion if you don't click with the first one you see.

I wish her well!
