As I explained in my post, I'm not taking apple cider vinegar for weight loss, I'm taking it for arthritis. I've read many promising articles about the benefits of using it to treat arthritis inflammation. Do you have an opinion on that?

Does she combine it with grape juice or honey to make it palatable?

Vodka. I think if you combine it with vodka your arthritis will magically disappear. Of course you won't be able to walk a straight line...

Search the following: "Do Acidic Foods Cause Inflammation?"

In the third paragraph (under the heading: The Case Against Acidic Foods) it states that a high acid diet can raise your risk for osteoarthritis and osteoporosis.

You do come up with the best ideas! First icecream, now vodka ... you're in my books.

Actually, organic apple cider vinegar, when taken daily, has the opposite effect on the body. Makes the overall PH levels a little more alkaline. Look up articles in the web, they explain it better than I could. And it works for me. My last lab tests showed my overall PH slightly alkaline.

Exactly, Quirky! Thanks for making that point.

How safe is it? Have there been any clinical trials? Has it been approved by the FDA? Can it be habit forming? What happens when one loses 10 or 15pounds and then stops taking this "Extract"? Do they gain the weight back quickly? Most likely they will if they haven't bothered to change their eating habits. In that case they will likely start taking it again and again and who knows what the long term effect will be?

This Coffee Bean Extract sounds like a money making fad diet and I would stay away from it. There's no substitute for learning and practicing how to eat a better diet.

Shame on Dr. Oz. for pushing this stuff.
And 1 -2 hours of exercise a day. That will speed up your metabolism most of the day. Try it you might like it.

I've tried Apple Cider Vinegar with honey and with grape juice. Nothing disguises the taste ... to me, it is just plain awful tasting. But I do notice results. Glucosamine doesn't work at all for me, but strangely ACV does work.

Sorry Topicop, I just realized I've totally hijacked this thread. Back to Raspberry Ketone and Safflower Oil.

One last hijack... Bare, you can also purchase ACV in tablet form.

I'm trying it, along with papya enzyme extract as a treatment for acid reflux instead of taking Prilosec every day.

Back to the topic....

ACV supposed to have some weight loss properties, but, haven't noticed any benefits.

losing weight is a long term commitment most people are not willing to make.

There is no "silver bullet" or magic pill.

One must exercise daily as strenuously as your age, physical condition or health will allow.

If you would measure EVERYTHING you eat for three or four days as in quantity and estimated calories to establish in your mind how many calories per day you are PUTTING IN.

Then cut back for example 500 calories per day from what you normally put in. That is about a pound a week.

Just google metabolism calculator. There are a number of sights that will help you calculate what your caloric intake should be for your age and physical condition. Most of those sites will also give suggestions of how many calories to deduct to meet your goal.

It takes weeks, months and longer to retrain your food desires and set a new pattern of eating. What I like about the above is you can almost eat what ever you want as long as you stay in your calorie in count.

The magic of how much better you and your body will feel and look is worth the effort.

If you are serious about it!!!!!!!!!!!

btk

PS the above method costs less than you are spending eating today!!

I can't imagine that ACV would help acid reflux, it burns all the way down when you take it in liquid form. But it is supposed to make PH levels more akaline, so perhaps it does something magical when it reaches the tummy.

I've heard that ACV has weight loss properties and I know someone who says they lost 80 lbs taking it. Somehow I think that if you're motivated enough to take ACV for weight loss, you're probably also eating less and exercising more! If anything really worked for weight loss, it would be on the front page of Time Magazine! In my humble opinion.

I tried the red raspberry capsules without any weight loss. I am now trying the green coffee bean capsules, so far I am not impressed, it's been a week.
