Default Stem Cell Therapy experiences ?

I am considering stem cell therapy . Just starting to research.
Have you or anyone one you know had experience with "stem cell therapy" ?
Good or bad ? In country or out of country ? Which originations and or doctors?
Your thoughts please. Thank you !

I looked into stem cell for vision loss. I was considering a clinical trial. Had a long and very technical (above my pay grade) discussion with my eye specialist. Does not recommend for macular, the eye is too complicated. However, he did say it does not end with stem cell, you have to be prepared to take all the drugs that go with this type of treatment and some of the drugs have horrendous side effects. I wish you luck, but really approach this with a lot of knowledge and caution. Do your research.

Have you tried searching Mayo Clinic, Harvard, Cleveland Clinic to gain any information you can on Stem Cell for your particular problem.

I tried stem cell treatment for my knee to avoid a knee replacement. Was expensive. My knee got better and started feeling better. Then after 3 months it had a lot of pain again. I was told by the doctor more stem cell treatments were required. If you got a lot of money go for it but have a clear idea of the total estimated cost. I finally just got a knee replacement. I just could not see spending between $12,000 or more with no guarantee. Good luck.

I had it done to two knees in Winchester Va. It cost almost 6K and did almost nothing. These were umbilical cells though. Maybe they have something better now?

Think about this, Medicare generally does NOT cover this, your insurance does not cover this, the reason, it appears that this type of treatment is NOT effective. As noted above do your research, talk to a trusted doctor. There are some very specific instances where stem cell treatments have been proven to work, the problem is these treatments are being used in other areas that have NOT been proven to be effective.

In my opinion, most stem cell treatments being sold are quackery. Unless the treatment is recommended by a medical doctor who you trust, stay away.

Exactly. How can people think they can inject stem cells and they magically know what to do and what to repair. Ridiculous.

Let me Google that for you...

how do stem cells work - Google Search

"How do stem cells know what to turn into?

Cell fate means that a stem cell “makes a decision” to differentiate into a more mature cell type. Signals from the environment—chemicals, extracellular proteins/hormones/factors, neighboring cells, the physical environment—converge on the cell, typically activating a signaling cascade that leads to gene expression."

"Do stem cells regenerate your body?

Stem cells play an important role in regeneration because they can develop into many different cell types in the body and renew themselves millions of times, something specialized cells in the body—such as nerve cells—cannot do."
