Default Who remembers DDT spraying?

Anyone out there who was a city kid in the 1950's????

Do you remember your mom spraying the DDT can onto the window screens in your bedroom? (Mosquitos)

Do you remember the trucks going down the city streets, ditto, spraying DDT for mosquitos?

It's a wonder we are all still alive and cancer free, if one really thinks about it.

Anyone with a chemical corporation background who knows what was in the DDT of that era????

Plus, we all lived surrounded by factories who manufactured PAINTS, PLASTICS and everything else under the sun.

No wonder we always sought the "country roads" and got out of the city by age 20.....moved to the rural "woods" by age 25.

Thanks in advance.

As a kid we use to ride our bikes right behind the trucks spraying the DDT. Also my Dad use to use Chlordane to spray the foundation of our house for termites. When Dad passed away a couple of years ago he still had a gallon glass bottle of Chlordane that we had to pay a hazardous waste company to haul off and dispose. It's a wonder anyone over 50 is still alive.

We did that too in Chicago in the summertime when we were kids. It washed off in our Saturday night bath.
