Default United Healthcare The Villages now has $2,000 a year dental coverage

Although I still have Delta Dental insurance with $1,500 a year coverage it is good to see that my United Healthcare now has upgraded to cover all dental needs. Anybody else seen this?

I assume this is the United health Advantage, not Supplement plan that offers the dental coverage?

I use the Aetna PPO dental benefit for 2023 of $2100. Usually keep for January and February.
Then before the end of the first quarter I move to Devoted PPO for the rest of the year. $1250 benefit.
Both of these PPO dental plans will pay MY DENTIST, not an approved list.

I just signed into our AARP Supplemental online account and yes it includes the Dentegra Discount Program. This is not an insurance policy but it does offer substantial discounts on most dental procedures. You must use a dentist that is in the program…closest to TV was Aspen Dental.

Sounds like a good opportunity for dentists to raise prices.

Isn't this gaming the system?

We had Delta Dental for years. Paid $126 a month. Liked our dentist. Now we are reconsidering. We discontinued Delta Dental. Will put that $126 a month in a fund and see how it goes.. I have an appointment in March with our long time dentist. Will see how much United pays for a cleaning. They said I would need to,pay and United would reimburse me. I also did some research and made my next appointment with a dentist in network with United. They said I would pay nothing for cleaning. PM me if you want further info on dentists.
