Default Hand Doctor

Does anyone know a GREAT hand doctor?
My hubby has excruciating pain in the right thumb. He needs to get some relief.

Dr Cynthia Harding in Lady Lake was recommended to me. You do have to wait weeks for an appointment. I was already back in NY before I could get an appointment so I went to a NY doctor. Hopefully your husband's pain can be cured with an injection to the thumb.

Feel bad for him! I once had gout in my hand! Absolutely awful!

Dr. Chin is in the same office as Dr. Harding. I saw her for pain in my thumb. She fixed it with one injection. However, I was there yesterday and I overheard them making a new patient appointment for Ovtober.

I just went to the orthopedic institute in Ocala. I saw dr Mahmood I have a trigger thumb and was given a choice ,of a shot or surgery I took surgery because I had another trigger finger back in Michigan and the shot didn't work. I called dr Harding and couldn't get n until October. So I called dr. Mahmood and got in two weeks after I called them. My surgery is scheduled in two weeks. Very nice doctor only about 45 minutes north of the villages.

I'm not advocating this because everyone's situation is different, but wanted to mention that after waiting several weeks for an appointment with Dr. Chin for trigger thumb and then waiting for the surgery to be scheduled, my pain went away on its own. I still have a knot at the base of my thumb but the tendon adjusted itself or something.

Dr. Chin did surgery on my hand for trigger finger. It turned out great. I believe one of the reasons for good results was that I did the exercises explained to me over and over again beginning almost immediately after surgery. If you don't you could be setting yourself up for more problems. Today my hand works perfectly and no more trigger finger. Highly recommend her. It does take a while to get in to see her.

Dr. Harding did my thumb resection. Excellent doctor as well as Dr. Chin. I would trust either doctor for treatment or surgery.

I had right thumb and hand pain for five years. I tried laser therapy, accupunture, and cortisone shots. Just before I retired in Miami, my surgeon there told me I had enough shots and needed surgery. Of course when I told him I would be moving in a few weeks he said, we will give you another shot and you will need to have surgery after you are moved and settled. That surgeon was Dr. Alejandro Badia and is rated very high in the Country. I asked him for a recommendation for a hand surgeon in Central Florida. He recommended Dr. Jerry Rubin in Celebration, Fl. This is right near Disney. Dr. Rubin did do my hand surgery in October 2012. I was in a cast for five weeks and then it took a good four more months to heal. But, after five years of chronic pain the pain was gone. I can't believe I waited so long. Anyway, I liked Dr. Rubin and he did a great job. You might want to check him out or at least get your second opinion from him. His phone number is 321-939-3300.
