Television pitchman Kevin Trudeau is headed to prison - CNN.com

He's getting 10 years in prison for misleading infomercials and misrepresenting his weight-loss books. The judge said that he has been attempting to cheat others for his own personal gain since he (Trudeau) was 25 years old. He is now 51. The judge called him an "unrepentant, untiring, and uncontrollable huckster who has defrauded the unsuspecting for 30 years."

In my opinion, he's certainly not the only one. He just happened to be one of the worst, and he got caught - finally.

I think that some of the responsibility should be on the television stations that profited from his commercials. I've seen many of his infomercials and always say "If it sounds too good to be true it must be". These TV stations need to start asking those same questions. Start being responsible media.

He didn't get the prison time for defrauding the public, he was sentenced for criminal contempt. He violated the 2004 court ordered terms of his initial conviction and disregarded the court order to stop doing what he was previously convicted of. So new trial on fraud issues, he got a 10 year sentence solely for criminal contempt.

Good riddance to this clown!
