Default The Villages Regional Hospital Urgent Care

My wife went to TVRH Urgent Care (located off the lobby of the hospital) last night to treat a cyst that had burst. This was the first time either one of us had ever been to an Urgent Care. No other patients were there when we walked in around 6:00 (only saw one other person come in while we were there). After a little paperwork and a nurse recording background and vitals, she was seen by a Nurse Practitioner who quickly and professionally treated the problem. We are of the opinion that most Nurse Practitioners and APRNs are just as competent as most Primary Care Doctors. We were very impressed with our visit to TVRH Urgent Care.

I like what you said and experienced, and I won't discount the good in having nurse practitioners. I've seen fine work from them.

However I would add to the highlighted statement above:

"…..within the limitations of the NP's medical and legal Scope of Practice".
