Default Pro Optic medication for macular degeneration

Hubby just received suggestion from his eye doctor to start Pro Optic tablets for macular degeneration. Anyone familiar with this medication? Also, it seems it must be ordered and not available in drug stores. Is that normal?

Not familiar with this one, but I purchase pretty much the same thing —Lutein-based pills— at Walgreens, Publix, etc.

Yes, have used them for four+ years. I started with them because, unlike Areds-2, you only have to take one per day, not two, price is similar, and I don't like taking pills. Eye doctor said it "is a good one."
