Default Langley in Sumterville

It is a bit of a drive to Langley health center in Sumterville, about 15 miles south of here. It is a rural federally qualified health care facility. It is sliding scale so your cost is determined by your income. They have counselors and even a psychiatrist if medications are needed. There is some wait to be seen, but if you call and get yourself on the waiting list it is that much shorter a time until you can be seen. Not sure if you can start in the Behavioral Health dept or if they want you to be seen by a primary care MD/PA/NP first to r/o medical issues. You can find information on the internet at Thomas E. Langley Medical Center - Home

Good luck in conquering your demons. It can be done, stay optimistic.

Mollymay.

Don't give up. Go to the emergency room if you are really, really down and are contemplating anything bad.

If we knew you we would be right there.

Hugs,

Gracie

In addition to BlueAsh's recommendation above, here is a list of Florida Healthcare Providers of all types, by county, for people who are uninsured.

I think everyone here could benefit by looking thru this because it's often that people ask what to do if they don't have insurance and do not qualify for Medicaid/Medicare. See:

Florida's Healthcare Safety Net:
A Comprehensive List of State and County Based Resources for the Uninsured

Default Memories

you could probably benefit from seeing a psychologist and there are hardly any in the Villages. when I filled my survey out I put down we need psychologists and neurologists in the villages!!! So many issues Seniors in general need help with such as retirement itself, leaving family and friends behind, adjusting to new environment, what if a spouse dies, problems with grandchildren, and on and on. And yet no psychologists?? You'll probably have to travel a bit to see someone but we will keep you in our prayers and Good Luck. Try seaching on line. Maybe you can find someone. And keep us updated with your progress.

If you are ready to begin a therapeutic relationship, it says some very good things about your openness to change, your personal responsibility and your courage. As your therapist I will make every effort to know you and understand your needs and goals before we determine together what treatment methods would be most helpful. I am proficient in many techniques but you decide which practices are most comfortable for you and most effective. Most people suffering depression, grief or low self-esteem report feeling more positive, more hopeful or more confident after just a few sessions.
I have had much success over the past twenty five years in helping hundreds of individuals achieve positive self-esteem, heal from grief, abuse and trauma, replace depression with joy, and meet weight goals. Also have helped many couples work through their conflicts and build strong lasting marriages.
I use a solution-focused approach. This means I will help you recognize your own strengths and resiliencies and then help you develop them and use them to achieve your goals. It also means we will use the easiest and briefest methods that will work for you to accomplish your purposes.
