I think we are opening because many people have to work to survive. Everybody is not retired. We can stay home, but others need to work. Just be smart about what you do and where you go. We have to open some time.

You want everything closed move to Virginia, except Lowe's, Walmart, Home Depot, etc. Small businesses are losing everything.

It's called opening the economy so we don't fall into a depression like the 1930's. Don't feel safe going out? DON'T no one is forcing you to leave your home.

Hoover did not become president until 1929. In what capacity did he keep this secret?

The vaccine does not prevent you from getting the flu, it improves your odds of acquiring it by about 50%. That’s if they correctly guess the strains that will be prevalent that season.

That's why we are "opening up" Anyone who wants to stay home may feel free to do so.
Your flu numbers are not just for 8-10 weeks. Plus, FL has a disproportionately lower number of flu deaths. Finally, flu is mitigated by climate, vaccine, etc. COVID-19 is not. I’m not saying a cautionary approach to resuming some activity isn’t warranted, but comparing this to the flu is misleading.

It's only a comparison of an average flu season (approx. 6 mo) to COVID 19 so far (about 2 1/2-3 mo)

"improves odds of acquiring it" = improves chance to prevent it.

It also reduces symptoms among those who DO end up getting sick anyway. While some might otherwise die, those with the vaccine are much more likely to experience more cold-like symptoms and recover much more quickly.
