Default Villages Health

I just starting looking around and found the The Villages Health is now accepting the Humana Community advantage plan. Of all the other plans accepted at Villages Health the Humana has a higher rating of 4.5 stars.

I've been with United Healthcare since moving to TV. I'm now considering possibly make a change for 2023.

Looking to see what others with TV Health think.

We have given up on ADVANTAGE plans, please do your research, use SHINE for unbiased information. We personally would have lost access to 3 or 4 specialists AND the PCP we were using if we went with advantage plans.
On a side note, we were with VHS when we first moved here and liked the experience (they were accepting supplemental plans at the time), then as decision was made to stop accepting supplemental, and stop the people that were grandfathered in, so we left.

This thread is about Villages Health adding Humana as one of their accepted health plans. This thread is NOT about advantage plans Vs Medicare. That subject has had as much air time here as dog poop.

OK, the OP did not state if they were on a supplemental plan or advantage plan, if I misunderstood, my bad.

Are all of their doctors accepting Humana? When we inquired about our Anthem plan we were told 2 doctors could accept us.

I can't speak on your specific health insurance plan, but I can say that the Villages Health has been terrific, as far as medical care is concerned. Good doctors, PAs, nursing staff. Clean environment, plenty of parking, and I can get to the whole thing by golf cart. My doctors are all in the Santa Barbara building. Audiologist, primary care, ob/gyn, the blood lab.

Villages Health UHC 'Focus' advantage plan enhances the already solid United Healthcare offering next year. More OTC $$, and expanded dental and vision benefits are now included. I've had excellent experiences with Villages Health, and United Healthcare. Have heard good things about Humana-but my experience keeps me coming back to UHC.

We've been with The Villages Health since the Santa Barbara clinic opened. Been VERY satisfied!! We 1st had the UHC plan but 2 yrs ago switched to Florida Blue. It offered better benefits. So far, probably won't switch....but I guess one can't say never. I haven't paid attention to the Humana ads but if it's something attractive to you, I'd say go for it!!

I suspect you are confusing HMO and PPO plans. Medicare Advantage has both. With PPO you can see any MD who accepts Medicare even when travelling.

Does The Villages UHC Plan offer a PPO option, or only HMO?

That particular Humana plan is an HMO so it limits physicians to those who accept that plan. Tread carefully and check to see what specialty physicians participate- I suspect very few. If you travel I would avoid any HMO.
